Middleton has sights set on top at Ibrox

-

GLENN Middleton is determined to go from strength to strength and continue his stunning rise in his debut campaign as a firstteam player at Rangers.

The winger has made the most of his chance to impress this term after being promoted from the Under-20 ranks by boss Steven Gerrard in the summer.

After opening his account for the Light Blues in the win over Dundee back in September, he marked his first start for Gerrard’s side with a brace against Ayr United.

His back-to-back strikes in the clashes with Spartak Moscow and Motherwell have seen Middleton establish himself in the Gers forward line.

Middleton said: “I’m absolutely loving it. But I just need to keep taking it day by day and impress the manager whenever I get a chance.

“It’s about trying to hit the levels I know I can hit, doing it day in and day out and showing he can trust me.

“Getting picked by the manager is definitely a boost to my confidence. If that isn’t a confidence-booster then I don’t know what is. I just need to go out there and perform for the manager and coaches whenever I am asked to.

“Everyone in the changing room respects Allan [McGregor], along with the other senior pros. Anyone can go to them for advice whenever they want and there is that respect there.”
