McIntyre braced for goal-shy Hibs to run riot

need to work on, and maybe with these games coming up we can find it.”

However, Lennon, who was understood to be interested in the Scotland position before Alex McLeish was appointed in February, has been taking an interest in the international players in his squad, particularly Martin Boyle.

The winger made his first two appearances for Australia last week and capped a memorable maiden call up with a brace and an assist in the second game against Lebanon in a 3-0 win.

Lennon now wants the 25-year-old, who qualifies for Australia through his dad, to rediscover the form at club level. Lennon added: “Martin got a huge boost and it was a huge boost for the club.

“So long as he brings that form to us, that’s the main thing, because he has been a bit off colour in the past couple of games.

“His mind was a little bit distracted but you get that with inexperienced players and we now need him to knuckle down and show that form for us.

“But on the whole he has been absolutely brilliant for me over the past two-and-ahalf years.

“Hopefully that confidence will exude onto the pitch for DUNDEE boss Jim McIntyre is not expecting Hibernian’s loss of goalscoring form to last long and knows they will have to be resolute at Easter Road.

Hibs have not scored in three matches and only taken one point from their past four Ladbrokes Premiership encounters.

But they had not lost a league game at Easter Road this year before St Johnstone this month and McIntyre’s bottom side could have their work cut out today.

He said: “We know we are going into a really tough match and Hibs being at home will be looking to make sure they are entertaining their own fans. “They’ve still got the same players, they still have good players and if you are not at can hurt you.

“We just have to concentrate on ourselves. Make sure we are dogged, determined, organised against the ball because they’ve got real pace in their team which can cause you major problems.

“They’ve never had any problems scoring goals so we know we are going to have to defend well but equally we know we have a threat that we carry as well.” it
