City’s heroes to be honoured
employment and other life-changing opportunities for ex-offenders; and Coming Home Centre, which provides support to veterans and their families.
The three contenders for the Individual Award are Glasgow East Women’s Aid support worker Clare Elliot; Poverty Alliance fieldwork development officer Twimukye Mushaka; and Active Life Club founder Raza Sadiq.
The Public Service Award finalists are Royston Youth Action Group; University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University Law Clinics; and Glasgow Clyde College’s Community Learning and Development Team.
The three finalists for the Uniform Service Award are Police Scotland’s Baillieston Local Problem Solving Team; Scottish Fire and Rescue’s Community Action Team; and PCs Nicola Baird, Sarah Smith, Paul Mallon and Iain Mackintosh, from Police Scotland’s Operation Mighty.
The Senior Award finalists are sports coach Donald Adie; sports club founder Alexander Watt; and Marie McMonigle and Marlene Johnston of Family Addiction Support Services.
The Young Award will go to either Sunnyside Ocean Defenders, Glasgow North West Youth Bank, Abdul Haseeb, or Kelsi McFadden and the contenders for the Health and Wellbeing Award are Glasgow East Women’s Aid, Notre Dame Children’s Centre, and music programme Givin it Laldie.
The Sport Award finalists are Shettleston Harriers; Partick Thistle Charitable Trust and Demi Mitchell.
The final award of the evening – the Lord Provost’s Special Recognition Award – will be announced on the night.
