Pair are arrested after crash

TWO people were arrested after a stolen £50,000 Porsche ploughed into a police car near a primary school.

The luxury car was reported stolen from the Hyndland area before later hitting the police vehicle in Knightswoo­d in the early hours of yesterday.

Two officers were taken to hospital and later released after treatment.

TWO police officers were treated for injuries after a stolen car worth £50,000 ploughed into a police vehicle in Knightswoo­d.

The incident, which happened on Fulton Road near to the junction with Knightscli­ffe Avenue, resulted in two arrests – a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman.

The cops were taken to hospital where they were treated for their injuries. following the crash shortly after midnight yesterday.

Events unfolded after a Porsche was reported to have been stolen from the Hyndland area of Glasgow around 6.30pm on Wednesday night.

The police helicopter was also scrambled during investigat­ions.

A Police Scotland statement said: “Police were called around 6.30pm on Wednesday 28 November 2018 to a report of a woman threatened and robbed of her car keys in Hyndland and had her Porsche Macan stolen.

“A number of further incidents involving this vehicle were reported to police, and extensive enquiries and searches were carried out by divisional officers assisted by a number of resources including Road Policing Officers and the force helicopter.
