MRS Claus will head south from the North Pole on Saturday and set up shop in Pollok House for a month of merriment.

The beautiful country house which stands in Pollok Country Park and is operated by the National Trust for Scotland will be decked out in festive splendour, as Mrs Claus calls Pollok House home until 24 December.

Mrs Claus will meet with children, hear their Christmas wishes and give a small gift as the festive season gets underway across the country.

Lynne Watson of National Trust for Scotland said: “Our visitors can enjoy a truly magical family Christmas experience when they bring their children to meet the award-winning Mrs Claus!”

Scottish gin and whisky distiller Eden Mill have confirmed an opening day for their new bar-eatery and Blendworks experience in Glasgow.

The new outlet, in city centre shopping mall Princes Square, will welcome its first customers at 7pm on Friday.

JAX bar has been billed by the firm as sophistica­ted with flair and will feature unique cocktails designed by Eden Mill’s distillers.

The popular Blendworks experience sees Eden Mill’s tutors lift the curtain on the gin making proces. They give visitors the chance to create their very own gin by choosing their own ingredient­s and determinin­g their own flavour profile.

A HUGE big-screen musical cinema event is coming to Glasgow this year courtesy of Vue cinemas. World-renowned violinist, André Rieu, will be performing a spectacula­r live concert in Sydney’s iconic Town Hall to delight classical music fans around the world.

The magical evening of music and dance will include show tunes, classical music and plenty of festive fun led by the Maestro, André Rieu and featuring his world class sopranos, The Platin Tenors.

Music lovers can see screenings of this concert in Vue locations around the country on the weekend of January 5 and 6 2019, including the Glasgow Fort.
