-

ALCOHOL worth a six-figure sum has been stolen from two trucks which were driven off from the Linwood area.

Thieves struck at a haulage firm on Burnbrae Road around 5.05pm on Sunday.

Two men wearing hi-vis clothing entered the yard and managed to gain access to the trucks containing the alcohol.

One of the vehicles was driven behind a small black car to the nearby Riverpark Industrial Estate in Bridge Street.

Once there, the cab was disconnected from the trailer, fitted to another cab and driven away.

Police have since recovered once of the stolen trucks in the East Kilbride area.

Detective Sergeant Michael Lochrie from Paisley CID said: “Extensive inquiries are under way and we are appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to please get in touch.

“In particular we would ask anyone who was in the vicinity of Riverpark Industrial Estate around 5pm yesterday evening and may have noticed any suspicious activity to contact police.

“We would also urge motorists with dashcams who were in the area to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our inquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Paisley CID via 101, quoting incident number 0179 of Monday 10 December 2018.”
