Safety tips for kids as Jordanhill campus work begins

-

SCHOOLCHILDREN have been given lessons on how to stay safe around a construction site adjacent to their campus.

Jordanhill School received a special presentation to mark the beginning of construction work at Jordanhill Park.

CALA Homes brought in demolition experts to provide advice on staying safe around the construction site as well as demolition techniques and protective equipment.

Construction work started on the site on October 15 as part of the £100million project.

The plans caused backlash among local residents, who held a long running campaign to have the development plans for the sire altered.

David Sutherland, Jordanhill Park project director, said: “Now that work has commenced on Jordanhill Park, we felt it was really important to spend some time with the children at Jordanhill School to show them how to look after themselves near the construction site.

“The children showed a real interest in what we had to say so hopefully the information will keep them safe as we continue our work between now and 2023.”

Richard Buchan, Jordanhill School head teacher of primary, said: “This was a great learning opportunity for the children and I would like to thank CALA Homes and Dem-Master for taking the time to visit us.”
