Falkirk’s loan Ranger Rudden makes return to Ibrox

-

FALKIRK have been dealt a blow after Rangers recalled striker Zak Rudden from his loan at the Championship club.

The 18-year-old scored eight goals in four months, including the only strike that settled the weekend’s win at Ayr United as the Bairns climbed off the foot of the table for the first time this term.

Rudden has now returned to his parent club after the expiry of his temporary arrangement, but McKinnon has not given up hope of the Scotland Under-19 internationalist re-signing.

The loss of Rudden comes as Falkirk prepare to face Patrick Thistle in a bottomof-the-table showdown at Firhill on Saturday.

McKinnon said: “Of course he would be a big miss. He has done so well for us and scored eight goals.

“As it stands he is out of Saturday’s match.

“But we’d love to extend his deal.”

McKinnon, meanwhile, admits he is targeting at least four more signings, having already added seven new recruits to his squad during the January transfer window.

Paul Dixon, Ian McShane, Abdul Osman, Ross MacLean, Mark Waddington, Shayne Lavery and Ciaran McKenna have all recently joined.

McKinnon added: “Ideally we would like to bring in another four quality players.

“Shayne, who we brought in from Everton, and Mark Waddington from Stoke (both on loan), these are young kids and there are no expectations on them.

“We need to get experienced players.”
