Protest plan against ‘pick-up artist’ following arrest

-

PROTESTORS will take to the streets of Glasgow to march against the harassment of women after videos by a ‘pick-up artist’ sparked outrage online.

The footage allegedly shows Adnan ‘A-Game’ Ahmed, who runs the DWLF YouTube page, approaching and filming unsuspecting women in the city centre.

Police Scotland launched an investigation into the ‘shameful and unacceptable’ behaviour and later arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with videos posted online.

Organised by the Empowered Women Project, the demo aims to show that the women of Glasgow “won’t stand for this behaviour”.

A post on the event Facebook page reads: “This is for anyone who has seen and been affected by the recent video which surfaced yesterday about a certain ‘A-Game’ who called himself a professional pick-up artist. I want to show him that our opinion does matter and that we won’t stand for his behaviour towards women...”

As previously reported by the Evening Times, Ahmed is enrolled in a degree course in ‘Learning Difficulties and Disabilities’ at Fife College, overseen by Abertay.

One student on the course said the College had been aware of the channel since October and were investigating it prior to it being reported by BBC The Social.

A Fife College spokeswoman said: “As per my earlier email, it would be inappropriate for the College to add to our earlier statement given that there is an active investigation and given data protection constraints.

She added: “We can however confirm that the College’s investigation dates back to when the concerns were first raised and was being pursued prior to the BBC publication of the videos on Wednesday.”
