Witness appeal after teenager killed in crash tragedy
POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a teenager was killed in a road crash.
Jack Frame was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 2.20am on Sunday morning.
The 16-year-old, from the Coalburn area, was a front seat passenger in the blue BMW 1 series.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, and three other passengers, another 20 year-old man, an 18-yearold boy, and a 19-year-old woman, are currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The group were travelling north on New Trows Road, near Hollandbush Golf Club, when the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
The road was closed for around six hours whilst emergency crews investigated the scene.
A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Sergeant Ryan McAuley said: “An investigation is currently under way to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone who may have seen the car immediately before the crash occurred to come forward.
“I also urge anyone with dash cam footage of the BMW car in the area to contact police urgently.”
