Kamara promises there’s more to come after first ever goal

GLEN KAMARA has taken the Ibrox crowd by surprise with his impressive start to his Rangers career. Now, he is confident there is plenty more to come, both from himself and Steven Gerrard’s side this season.

Kamara made the move from Dundee on deadline day as Rangers paid £50,000 to bring him to Glasgow sooner rather than later after previously agreeing a pre-contract deal.

The Finnish international has wasted little time in proving that it was money well spent and he continued his fine form on Wednesday night as he opened the scoring against his former club.

There were no wild celebrations from the 23-yearold but he is determined to give Rangers fans more reasons to be cheerful under the guidance of Gerrard.

Kamara said: “I’m delighted to score my first goal for Rangers but it’s bittersweet scoring against my old team. I didn’t celebrate out of respect to Dundee. My time there was good and I enjoyed it so a bit of respect. That was my first goal at the 82nd attempt so I enjoyed it and it was a good finish.

“I’m enjoying it and I’ve settled in quite well. The manager has helped me and allowed me to express myself and it helps when the team is good.

“We were sloppy both individually and collectively in the second half so we need to improve on that. The manager spoke to me and Ryan [Jack] at the end of the game and said we need to manage the game better than we did in the second half.

“It’s hard when you’re 3-0 up at half time but we have to keep our standards up.

“All we can do is focus on ourselves and we’ve got a hard away game at

Aberdeen but we’re looking forward to it and that’s the next task ahead.”
