Fancy a blether...new Glasgow tourist guide is multi-lingual must

-

A NEW tourist guide to Glasgow has been launched across the city.

Half a million copies of the new ‘Welcome to Glasgow’ guide can be found in hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions across the city.

The A5-sized multilingual guide will be published annually and shines a spotlight on Glasgow’s world-class museums and galleries, rich architectural heritage, year-round major events programme, unrivalled shopping provision and thriving restaurants, bars and nightlife.

It includes a map of the city and is aimed at helping domestic and international tourists discover the best of what Glasgow has to offer, with content translated into French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Chinese.

The city’s ambitious Tourism and Visitor Plan to 2023 is focused on increasing that number to three million within the next five years.

Just last month, Time Out Magazine named Glasgow in the top 10 of its 48 best destinations in the world for 2019 as well as first for both friendliness and affordability.

Lord Provost, Eva Bolander, said: “I’m very excited about the Welcome to Glasgow guide. It’s a great way to connect with our visitors and highlights the very best that Glasgow has to offer; from our cultural attractions and rich history to unbeatable shopping and a vibrant night-time economy.

“Glasgow is a first choice tourism city as our Time Out accolade shows.

“We’re open, friendly and affordable and this new guide will only enhance our visitor experience, providing useful information as well as attractive offers and discounts.”
