ASL school hit by vandals in ‘disgusting’ break-in

- BY JACK AITCHISON

A SCHOOL for pupils with “profound and complex learning disabilities” in Glasgow had its minibus stolen in a “disgusting” break-in.

Officers were called to Linburn Academy in Penilee shortly before 1am on Monday morning amid reports that a group of youths were seen in the area and a minibus had crashed into parked cars nearby.

It was later found abandoned with extensive damage.

The Linburn Road school, which provides additional support needs, was closed to pupils yesterday because of the September weekend bank holiday.

Glasgow City Council have since hit out at the “disgusting” act, urging anyone with information to contact the police.

A spokeswoman for the council said: “It’s disgusting that the vandals have targeted an additional support for learning school and in particular the school transport.

“The school is contacting parents to let them know the school will open as normal on Tuesday but there will be delays to transport.

“If anyone has
