New buffet restaurant set for spot at mall

-

GLASGOW’S St Enoch Centre is to welcome a major restaurant brand which takes buffet food “to the next level” according to its owners.

COSMO Authentic World Kitchen will join the centre’s food offering in the summer of next year as part of a multi-million-pound redevelopment, which will also include a nine-screen VUE cinema and more stores.

The brand says it takes inspiration from the best five-star hotels in the world with cuisine from across the globe cooked fresh in front of customers and an ‘all you can eat’ fixed price dining experience.

Teppanyaki experts grill steaks and fresh seafood while World of Asia focusses on Chinese food from across the eight native regions.

House of Spice brings the heat with Indian banqueting and there will also be a continental station with handmade, wood-fired pizzas.

A full carvery is also on offer everyday along with a Tasting Kitchen, specialising in small plates.

Desserts include bite-sized homemade cakes, comforting puddings, gelato and a chocolate fountain centrepiece, with cascading Swiss milk chocolate perfect for sinking and swirling on sumptuous fruit and marshmallows. Everything can be washed down with soft drinks, beer, wine, spirits and cocktails.

COSMO will be one of the centre’s nine new restaurants, joining Smashburger and Nando’s, who is introducing a second outlet to the centre.

Since opening in 2003, the brand has proved popular across the UK and Ireland as consumers embrace global dining and flavours from all corners of the world.

Graeme Jones, at Sovereign Centros, said: “COSMO is a hugely popular brand and with their wide variety of food on offer, freshly cooked in front of customers with flair, they will make a great addition to the revamped centre.

“The enhanced leisure and food offering at St Enoch Centre is expected to attract an additional two million people to the centre every year and it will certainly play a key role in that.”

Maggie Wang, property director at COSMO, said: “We’re excited to be bringing our style of food theatre to St Enoch Centre and to Glasgow’s city centre.

“The redevelopment plans for the St Enoch Centre were impressive and felt like a good opportunity for us to expand and become part of the new leisure offering, which we’re confident will attract a host of new customers.”

COSMO, Nando’s, Smashburger and the further six units in the new restaurant quarter will complement St Enoch Centre’s existing food court – The Atrium – which attracts over three million visitors every year and is home to Di Maggio’s, KFC, Greggs, Subway, and Wongs.
