- BY JACK AITCHISON

A‘BARKING’ mad couple were yesterday questioned by police – after walking down a busy Glasgow street in a full dog gimp mask, being led on a leash.

Shocked locals couldn’t quite believe what they were witnessing as the unidentified “owner” took his “dog” for a walk down Cathcart Road in the pouring rain at around 11.30am.

Pictures posted online show two officers – remaining professional despite the bizarre situation – questioning the pair and taking notes, with the woman still wearing the black dog mask.

The moment was captured by 34-year-old roofer Iain Mcgeough, who has since gone viral for sharing the scene on Facebook.

He wrote: “Just witnessed a guy gettin pulled wae the cops for walking his burd on a leash with a dog gimp mask and everything on haha.

“Just another normal Monday morning in Glesga eh haha”.

Within just six hours more than 2300 people had ‘liked’ his post.

It also boasted more than 5500 comments, with over 6500 people sharing it to their friends.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times, Iain added: “It was between 11 and 11.30am on Cathcart Road, right outside the First Bus depot.

“I didn’t see if they got arrested no, police were just speaking to them and the cop had his book out.

“I wish I knew how the conversation went down lol”.

Later, footage emerged on Facebook of the pair walking down nearby Bridge Street.

Posted by Regan Walker, the woman is still wearing the mask – but is also seen wearing a long, bushy tail.

She captioned the video: “Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen this guy has got his burd on a full scale leash dog gimp mask n tail the lot”.

In just five hours the clip was viewed more than 100,000 times – sparking more than 1700 comments and around 3000 shares.

The Glasgow Times contacted

Police Scotland regarding the incident but received no response.

However, it is understood that no arrests were made after questioning the couple.

The act of dressing up as a dog proved an eye-opener after being put in the spotlight in the Channel 4 documentary ‘The Secret Life of Human Pups’ in 2016.

The programme gave an in depth look at a previously unknown world of what is referred to as “human puppy play” - where ordinary people live double lives as man’s best friend.

According to The Telegraph, there are over 10,000 members of the ‘puppy play’ scene in the UK – with full costumes setting you back thousands of pounds.
