Memories of Blairvadach Outdoor Education Centre shared as petition to save it skyrockets

Come on people, this is all some of our kids will ever see of the outside world away from our cities. I went as a kid – we need these sorts of places to show them that there’s more. Absolute shame. The council should hang their heads – big pay rises but again taking from elsewhere.

I went there in the early 70s when the sailing club was located in a large Nissan hut. Great weekends saling on the Gareloch giving me an unforgettable feeling of independence and appreciation of the great outdoors. It also kept me off the streets and from getting up to all sorts of mischief that results from boredom. Please rescue this valuable facility for future generations.

The SNP contradict themselves daily, promoting a healthy Scotland indeed, then take away the means... It’s like their carbon neutral stance. Watch the Scottish Parliament with a handful of MSPs but every light on in the place, dare I say full heating and everything else for what is an empty chamber and probably an empty building.

Unlimited alcohol set to be banned from these allinclusive hotel resorts this summer

Excellent plan. The locals in the Balearics are sick of Brits getting paralytic and causing trouble. I’ve been going to my parents’ house in Majorca since 1979, and it’s a shame to see what’s happened to the island over the years, due to drunken British louts.
