Scots stars set to film in Glasgow city centre

GLASGOW streets will be closed off as Scottish stars come to Glasgow to film a new BBC thriller.

Martin Compston, Gary Lewis and Rose Leslie will be in town to film the new six-part BBC drama Vigil.

Streets in the city centre and in Finnieston will be affected by significan­t restrictio­ns to allow filming of the BBC’s new show from the makers of Bodyguard and Line of Duty.

Road closures and restrictio­ns will be in place for filming from Monday, March 9 until Wednesday, March 18.

Vigil stars the Line of Duty and Game of Thrones actors and tells the story of the mysterious disappeara­nce of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on-board a Trident nuclear submarine, which brings the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services.

The full restrictio­ns closures are as follows:

From 3pm on Monday, March 9 until 11pm Friday, March 13.

Prohibitio­n of waiting, loading and unloading:

North Frederick Street both sides for its full length.

Martha Street both sides for its full length.

From 7pm to 11pm on Thursday, March 12.

Prohibitio­n of driving:

North Frederick Street, Martha Street and John Street between George Street and Martha Street.

From 3pm on Saturday, March 14 until 8pm on Sunday, March 15.

Prohibitio­n of waiting, loading and unloading:

Cochrane Street north side from George Square to property number 20, Cochrane Street south side from George Square to John Street, John Street between George Street and Cochrane and

Street, George Street south side between George Square and John Street.

From 10am to 7pm on Sunday, March 15.

Short hold for pedestrian­s during scene:

Cochrane Street north side from George Square to property number 20, John Street between George Street and Cochrane Street.

From 3pm on Monday, March 16 until 10pm on Tuesday, March 17.

Prohibitio­n of waiting, loading and unloading:

Corunna Street both sides for its full length.

Argyle Street south side between Corunna Streets and a distance of 50m eastwards.

From 3pm on Tuesday, March 17 until 11pm on Wednesday, March 18.

Prohibitio­n of waiting, loading and unloading on Cumlodden Drive south side between property numbers 96 and 43.

Aray Street both sides for its full length.

From 10pm on Tuesday, March 17 until 1am on Wednesday, March 18.

Prohibitio­n of driving including pedestrian­s movements on Finnieston Street between Lancefield Quay and Govan Road (The Clyde Arc non-bus lane side).

Bus lane restrictio­ns will be revoked.
