Jail after stalking woman on social media

Stalker threatened to attend Miss Cullan’s home and commit violence against her, as well as demand pictures of her.

He was snared by police on January 27 this year, but hindered officers by resisting arrest.

Stalker ignored a court bail order not to approach Miss Cullan, as he attempted to contact her two days later.

Stalker pleaded guilty yesterday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to stalking Miss Cullan and failing to comply with the order.

He also admitted hindering or obstructing police officers by resisting arrest.

Harvey Diamond, defending, asked Sheriff Aisha Anwar to grant Stalker bail before his sentencing.

Mr Diamond claimed Stalker had lost a stone in weight since being remanded on February 16.

Mr Diamond added: “He is worrying about this matter and doesn’t enjoy being in custody for this matter.

“He said there isn’t the slightest chance if he was out on bail he would go near Miss Cullan and wouldn’t contact her.

“He doesn’t wish to do so as he doesn’t want to be back in custody.”

Sheriff Anwar refused the request and Stalker, from the city’s Pollok, was remanded in custody for background reports.

She said: “These offences you pleaded guilty to are very serious indeed.

“Part of the offending was when you were on supervision for another sentence, which was a breach of bail conditions.

“It is highly likely you will receive a custodial sentence for these offences.”

Further information regarding the circumstances will be heard at the sentencing at the end of the month.
