I’m pleased to be treated like an adult on Covid-19

-

ALL both governments have done on coronavirus is to keep us informed and put contingency plans in place (Glasgow woman calls on Government to ‘stop irrational scaremongering’ over COVID-19, March 9). Exactly what they’re supposed to do.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I quite like being treated as an adult. But I’m sure this petitioner knows more about epidemiology than all of the doctors and scientists put together.

IT will be interesting to find out the new laws that will be created off the back of this fear to curb our freedom and create more surveillance in the name of public safety. In particular focusing on the elderly and around vaccination.

THE authorities in Scotland need to start taking the Coronavirus outbreak far more seriously. Large parts of Italy are currently under lockdown and sport is being played behind closed doors.

Sports stadiums, especially football grounds, are notorious breeding grounds for germs at the best of times. After halftime, they are in an absolute mess, and if you can find hot water you are very lucky indeed.

Therefore, it is beyond belief that more than 50,000 were allowed to attend Murrayfield at the weekend – with the same amount expected for the Rangers against Celtic match next Sunday.

These events need to be cancelled or played behind closed doors. Full stop. What is more important, a football game or tackling this dangerous outbreak?

We have many filthy people in this country who feel it is acceptable to spit on pavements as they walk along. Due to the current coronavirus outbreak I would suggest that these people be arrested for putting the health of the community at risk.

Also, people should be avoiding these local stores which allow people to handle morning rolls, breaking them off and bagging them off. You just don’t know what people have been doing beforehand. Rolls should only be sold pre-packed. Meanwhile, in response to LJT in yesterday’s letters – LJT has got it totally wrong when joining the pitchfork brigade who criticise First Minister Nicola Sturgeon (left) as the worst thing to happen to Scotland. Really? She has seen off all the great Labour and Tory pretenders and is even lauded in parts of England who wish they had such a conscientious, hard-working politician on their side. Perhaps LJT can give us some examples, but I doubt if they would stand up to scrutiny.
