Serious questions have to be answered

-

IT is clear that that as we go forward in the present situation we find ourselves in, serious questions will have to be answered. I find it quite ironic that we now see the very people who are responsible for the deterioration of hospitals, through their ability to be blind and deaf to repeated requests for assistance from the people who work in them, now in the position of begging the people they treated with contempt to come to their rescue.

Not only that, but this Government continued to broadcast how good they were and that everything they did or say was for our own good.

Their fixation on ‘Big Business’ and in particular money and not the people who are essential to the wellbeing of everyone in this country is no defence against nature when she decides to bite back, as this Government is now finding out.

I can only hope that in the present situation everyone will now see that the past 10 years of boasting and deceit and in particular the state of the Public Services and those who work in them have been treated will now see clearly the difference between lies and truth.

I FULLY support Nicola Sturgeon as First Minister for Scotland and think she is an exemplary politician and person.

I read her article in the Glasgow Times and fully support most of the contents. However, as with most updates on the Coronavirus pandemic, there was no mention of testing for the virus.

The World Health Organisation is urging Governments to ‘test, test, test’.

The problem is that people don’t know if they have the symptoms of this virus or flu. Surely widespread screening could help detect this at an early stage?

THE council has placed 900 new on-street litter and dog waste bins across the city.

I am bit concerned as I don’t see these bins being cleaned on a regular basis. Given Glasgow and Scotland are trying to decrease the threat of the Cornavirus, I would hope the council would logically think of increasing the cleaning cycle of these bins.

THE priority should be to help communities that have been starved of a bus service since so called First Glasgow took over (Bid for Glasgow City Council-run bus service takes step closer, Wednesday). Many areas of the city have no service at all whilse the main roads are overloaded with buses. Passengers don’t want a lengthy walk from the main road to where they live, especially at night.
