We’re pausing our home delivery service – but you can support us as we help Glasgow battle virus

-

THE Glasgow Times has taken the difficult decision to halt our home delivery service. Editor Callum Baird said that while experts said there was no chance of contracting the virus through handling papers, the safety of junior agents was “the most important thing”.

Callum explained: “The coronavirus lockdown is affecting life for everybody in our city. And although we know how important the paper is to our 5000+ home delivery readers, we have taken the difficult decision to suspend our service until the lockdown is over.

“Although we have been assured by experts that there is no chance of contracting the virus by handling newspapers, the safety of our junior agents who deliver the paper is the most important thing for us.

“We will be back. And we hope you will join us. Please stay safe in this difficult time.”

But we still want to be able to provide the best support we can to Glasgow in this challenging time.

We’ve already launched a new Home Times feature – where we will provide parents with tips from experts on how to keep their kids occupied and educated during the lockdown.

We’ll be including special STEM assignments later this week – and today, we’ve started including puzzles for kids in your paper to keep them busy.

We recently launched our dedicated daily pages for different parts of Glasgow – with the South Side today – to help keep communities informed.

Plus, we’ll have more details tomorrow on the ways we’re looking to help Glasgow battle the coronavirus pandemic.

If you’d like to support us, the page opposite has details on how to do so in this time of crisis.
