Drive-thru planned as developers kickstart £150m in construction
ANEW drive-thru Starbucks and Home Bargains is planned for the city’s Dalmarnock Riverside as Clyde Gateway sets out £150 million of construction activity plans in the East End.
The move will see nearly 1000 new homes being built on-site as developers Like Group and McTaggart Group restart the Dalmarnock Riverside development and Springfield Homes bring forward new homes at Dalmarnock station.
More homes are also in the pipeline with Swan Group’s recent proposal for construction at Newhall Street.
The programme is pushing to complete two office pavilions at Rutherglen Links Business Park, which were 12 weeks from completion when lockdown was announced.
Further plans include a new headquarters for the STUC at Bridgeton which developers aim to complete by the end of the year.
A speculative development, the Purifier Studios, on the site of the former gas works in Dalmarnock, will also start on-site with the unique Victorian building being transformed into offices and workspaces.

“Kickstarting the investment in housing, business space and leisure facilities is welcome news, and with further exciting investment opportunities in the pipeline, development activity is set to top £200 million in Clyde Gateway over the coming year.”
The project has promised
“great greenspaces” to enjoy in the Clyde Gateway as they intertwine retail and leisure.
The Starbucks drive-thru and Home Bargains will be located at the Clyde Gateway Trading Outlet.
