Seven-year-old left in ‘serious condition’ after attack by dog
ACHILD has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a dog attack in Glasgow. The seven-year-old girl was pounced on by the animal near Lunestone Court, in Arden, on Wednesday afternoon.
The has been told the dog, whose breed is unknown, has now been seized and police have launched an investigation.
The girl was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she was treated for serious but not life threatening injuries.
Police Scotland confirmed had launched a probe.
A spokesman said: “Police were made aware of an incident involving a dog attacking a seven-year-old girl near Lunestone Court, Glasgow around 4.10pm on Wednesday, July 8.
“The seven-year-old girl was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries
“The dog has since been seized by officers and enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesman for Glen Oaks Housing Association, which is responsible for the properties, said they were investigating the matter. they
He said: “We can confirm that a child living in one of our properties in Arden has been injured in a dog attack.
“We are currently investigating the circumstances of this as a matter of extreme urgency and have been in contact with the family.
“The wellbeing and safety of our tenants is always paramount and we are offering what support we can at this difficult time.
“We expect to be working closely with the police as we seek to establish exactly what happened.”
