- BY CONNOR GORDON

ATHUG who scared a woman so badly after brutally assaulting her that she wet herself has been jailed for 21 months. Declan Morrison, 24, also attacked three men within minutes in Glasgow’s Thornwood area in March this year.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday that Morrison pounced on the stranger and threatened to take her mobile phone.

Prosecutor Adele Macdonald said: “He repeatedly punched and kicked her on the head and body while dragging her by the hair.

“This caused bruising and she was so frightened that she urinated.”

Morrison then assaulted two men nearby after telling them he had just fought with someone.

The pair told Morrison to leave them alone and he replied: “What? You want to go for it?”

One victim was punched on the head and fell to the ground where he was further assaulted.

Another male victim tried to intervene but was punched to his face and received a burst lip.

He was also kicked on the ground to his head and body before Morrison fled the scene.

Morrison lastly approached a third man, who was in his car, and asked him to make a phone call which eventually cut out.

The man refused to make another call and was punched by Morrison and struck on the face with a glass bottle which smashed.

A 999 call was made but Morrison wasn’t traced until he was subject of a warrant.

The man was treated for a head wound which has left him permanently scarred.

The other victims didn’t require hospital treatment but were left with bruising and black eyes.

Morrison pleaded guilty to the four assaults.

Lawyer, Callum Ross, defending, said: “He is not staying in some fool’s paradise, he realises the seriousness of this. He expresses his conduct was deplorable and completely unacceptable.”

Sheriff Joan Kerr told Morrison: “You engaged in three incidents involving separate members of the public who were unknown to you.

“On the three occasions you became violent towards them and left four people injured as a result of your conduct.
