- BY STACEY MULLEN

EVERY foot b a l l fan’s greatest companion the Wee Red Book is making its comeback this season. The much- loved Glasgow Times publication, now in its 92nd year, will be printed in the coming weeks delighting football fans across the country.

The uncertainty of the football season in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in a later publication date for the iconic book than usual.

But never fear you can pre- order now to ensure you have your guide to the beautiful game in Scotland.

Jacqueline Brogan, who co- edits the book with Stuart Sandler, said: “The Wee Red Book is unique, an institution many say, but this one stands out as the year Covid- 19 stopped Scottish football in its tracks. In fact, it wasn’t until we were compiling the book this year you realise the impact of the pandemic.

“All the cups unfinished from the Scottish Cup to the Junior and Youth Cups even the Glasgow Cup. No PFA Scotland awards this year as the association felt it was inappropriate considering so many of its members would lose their jobs as a result of Covid- 19.

“But the Wee Red Book found a way to publish throughout these difficult and uncertain times, and it’s back for the 92nd year.”

Stuart added: “I’m delighted we’ve been able to produce this year’s edition of the Wee Red Book.

“I’ve had many emails from regular readers of the annual asking about this year’s edition, and thankfully we’ve been able to deliver another packed Wee Red Book.

“The 2019- 2020 season is one which will be hard to forget, and the Wee Red Book has this season’s ups and downs covered.”

Listing everything from cup winners and league winners, up- coming fixtures and information on every Scottish player, the Wee Red Book is the most essential guide for any Scottish football fan.
