Free course to help business owners cope with pandemic

- BY ANN FOTHERINGHAM

WOMEN business owners in Glasgow have until Friday to register for a free course aimed at supporting them through the pandemic.

The 18- week Women- Led Accelerator project, part of Glasgow City Council’s Business Growth Programme, is open for applications until midday on October 9.

Delivered by individual specialists in strategy, leadership, marketing, sales and resources, the course has been designed around the challenges faced by small and medium- sized businesses in Scotland.

Local enterprise services provider LESL has designed the course to help businesses which have experienced significant training difficulties since the start of the pandemic.

The programme, which begins on November 5 and comprises nine half- day workshops and nine one- to- one sessions with industry experts, will be delivered entirely on the Zoom video platform.

Keith Parsons, project executive at LESL, said; “Businesses in Glasgow and elsewhere are facing uncharted change in their trading landscape following lockdown, with a significant shift in both the economy and in- customer behaviour.”

He added: “The Women- Led Accelerator programme offers expert advice in navigating through this period of change, helping to support companies with the strategies needed to thrive.”

The Business Growth Programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund ( ERDF) through Scotland’s European Structural and Investment Funds ( ESIF) programmes.

More information and eligibility criteria, plus the application form, can be accessed online at www. business- glasgow. co. uk.
