- BY RUTH SUTER

THREE officers, one man and a child were rushed to hospital after a police chase in the South Side. The collision, involving two cars, caused a police car to be flipped onto its roof.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Carmunnock Road in Castlemilk at 5.35pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of the crash.

The chase started after a Skoda car failed to stop along Stavenan Road.

During the short pursuit, a two- vehicle crash occurred on Carmunnock Road at its junction with Craiglinn Gardens, involving a Peugeot police car and a blue BMW 3 series. The BMW was not involved in the police pursuit of the Skoda car.

Three male police officers were also taken to QEUH, Glasgow. Their current condition is currently unknown.

The road was closed for around three hours after the collision.
