One month on and I’m still left waiting for my flu jab
IEMAILED on October 23 regarding OAPs not getting the flu shot and letting you know that I am member of nursing staff on constant night shift on a city hospital ward and that I was still waiting for a flu shot.
Well surprise, surprise, one month later and I am still waiting.
Now in all the media there is the feeding frenzy of the Covid- 19 vaccine.
I get the feeling that by the time the Trust gets around to vaccinating myself and colleagues we will all be dead, not of Covid- 19 but of old age.

WITH regards warnings over a “third wave” , it’s a difficult situation though – some people don’t want to not have a Christmas if family members are elderly, ill, etc, and fear it might be their last, but then nobody wants a third wave of Covid either.
Damned if we relax rules and damned if we don’t.

EVERYONE in Britain will get coronavirus no matter what measures they are taking. The quicker they just let people get on with it the better. Alexander MacDonald

WE had many comments via social media over the sad death of football legend Diego Maradona. Here’s a selection of them...
PRIOR to the start of a European cup match his German team opponents stopped their warm- up just to be mesmerised by Diego’s. Hugh Gordon
MARADONA was a truly great player. RIP.
John Donaldson
BEST player ever. RIP. He won the player of the century vote by a mile and FIFA decided to have another wee vote among themselves to give one to Pele. David Callaghan
QUITE possibly the greatest of them all. RIP.
Martin Neilson
THE way Maradona could hold off other players was just breathtaking. A true superstar.
James MacDonald
OUR story on a friend’s promise to her neighbour in the Gorbals as demolition looms sparked many comments on Facebook. Here’s a selection of them...
I LOVED living in 341 from 1970- 1995. I would still be there if I could be.
Happy memories, always had a great community spirit in flats. Nice to see it’s still the same.
Marie Quinn
I CAN’T believe they might be pulling them down.
Debbie- Jo McIntyre
Diego Maradona was quite possibly the greatest of them all
MY gran and grandad Margaret and Jack Wilson lived in 305, floor 11, next door to my uncle Pat and auntie Nan Wilson. Margaret- Ann Maxwell
PEOPLE with children shouldn’t be in high- rise flats in this day and age.
Angie Mullen
WEDNESDAY’S story on calls for a safety net for the hospitality industry led to many comments...
THE hospitality sector should pen Nicola Sturgeon a letter telling her they’re opening no matter what she says.
She has far too much power over everyone at the moment and is abusing it. The police can’t jail everyone.
John Colin
AT least the pubs and restaurant had it under some sort of control.
Folk are still having a drink as they didn’t close the sale of alcohol, hence why we are in the situation.
It was never about pubs and
places selling drink, it is how people choose to behave while drinking. However, they punish people who like to have one or two drinks after working all week because that is their downtime when they go for a meal. Frances
WE are a nation addicted to alcohol and people who are drunk are not likely to social distance.
Remember the scenes up in Aberdeen? I agree the sector needs support, as does my sector – aviation – which has also been decimated, but as with the whole Christmas relaxing of the rules, the Scot Government are damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
