RATINGS Celtic

-

SCOTT BAIN

6 Could do nothing with the first Sparta goal but slow off the mark for the second. Had a nightmare for fourth.

HATEM ELHAMED

Put in a couple of decent deliveries from the right and did OK on the backfoot. Out of position for third goal.

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN 6

Won vast majority of his headers and solid in the tackle on his return from long- term injury.

KRISTOFFER AJER

Allowed the ball to trickle into Lukas Julis’s path for Sparta’s second. Not his best showing.

DIEGO LAXALT

Always looks decent defensively on the left but his forward play still leaves a bit to be desired.

SCOTT BROWN

5 Easily shrugged off the ball for the leveller and failed to dictate pace of the game for his side in the midfield. Subbed after the hour.

CALLUM McGREGOR

Played David Hancko onside for the equaliser. Didn’t do anywhere near enough to link with attack.

OLIVIER NTCHAM

5 Anonymous in the midfield. Celtic need a lot more from a player of his calibre in a game like this one.

RYAN CHRISTIE

6

6 Snuffed out by the Sparta defence most of the evening, had one effort wide of target early in the second half.

MOI ELYOUNOUSSI

Looked a tad more lively after the restart and put ball on a plate for huge Odsonne Edouard miss.

ODSONNE EDOUARD

Showed both the sublime and the ridiculous with stunning opener and then missed a sitter in the second half.

Substitutes TOM ROGIC

4

( on for Brown, 65) Came on to chase the game but didn’t see enough of the ball. PATRYK KLIMALA

( on for Edouard, 82) Not given enough time to make an impact. 3
