Govanhill cleansing row grows as council says binmen should increase their hours

If the country gets any worse with the cleansing department not doing a two-week or one-week wheelie bin collection, we are going to end up in years to come with bin bags and rubbish all over the streets. We can already see it happening just now and with the amount of rat reports going about things will only get worse.

Clear the bins. Get the rat problem under control.

Is that not what council tax etc paid for? It’s not to put it in your pockets.

Same as the roads... using cheap material trying to fill potholes, and they wonder why they only last one week and they’re back doing it again.

Get real, get the right material and get the jobs done that you’re paid to do.

This is on Nicola Sturgeon’s patch. Surely she should intervene?

Scotland’s climate plan may not deliver emission cuts needed, activists warn

“Scotland needs a bold plan setting out steps to phase out fossil fuel extraction and use, while ensuring a just transition for workers and communities currently dependent on the industry.”

So no income from oil or gas and those workers chucked on the dole queue. Aberdeen hit hardest. Not much use to an independent Scotland, then. Peter Gibson

We were told at the last independence referendum that having oil and gas was uniquely a bad thing for Scotland (as well as being told if we wanted to be in the EU we’d have to vote No to indy) and its economy; so this must be a good thing. No?
