Thug threatens to bite cop’s nose off in £3k drug debt rant

ADEALER who claimed to be paying back a debt after being caught with £3000 of drugs was jailed for 46 months. Nathan Padden was caught with the haul at his mother’s home in Cambuslang on October 23, 2020.

The 31-year-old dad then lashed out at officers after his mum turned up during the raid.

Padden later told police: “I will hold you in a dungeon and a cave and make you suffer for four years.”

Padden pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to being concerned in the supply of heroin, Diazepam and street Valium.

He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and two police assaults.

The court heard police searched Padden’s bedroom and recovered the drugs from a cupboard and wardrobe.

Padden’s mother was told to sit in officers.

Prosecutor Amy Hunter said: “Padden became threatening and abusive towards police saying that they didn’t know what they got themselves into.”

He was told to calm down by one of the officers who was then called a “stupid cow” and he threatened to bite her nose off.

It was discovered that Padden has a similar previous conviction for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs from 2018.

Lawyer Ryan Sloan, defending, said: “He accrued a further debt from the 2018 matter.

“This matter was to service the debts from the 2018 matter but there is no excuse and the drugs amounted to just under £3000.

“He reacted poorly to his mother being dragged into his conduct.”

Sheriff Sean Murphy QC told Padden the issue was serious regardless of why he was involved.

The sheriff added: “It’s difficult to fathom as to why you behaved in this way in regards to your mother being there.

“You hid the drugs in your house and this is entirely your fault.”
