Greens’ plan for country won’t get my vote in May

-

IN response to the article on the manifesto by the Green Party (Thursday, April 15), Patrick Harvey and Lorna Slater should look in the mirror.

Promising not to increase tax was a pledge by SNP. One broken with help of Green Party.

The latter promise to keep the SNP government accountable, however, the number of times they failed on that would fill a page of this paper.

In step for independence, the ordinary person – you and me – would find our hard-earned wages hit by a 45p in a pound tax.

While VAT would be approximately 50%, according to TaxPayers’ Alliance report.

Reflect hard and consider a UK pound would be the same and businesses across these borders would increase with a secure government in place.

The SNP’s own figures show the worth of national trade being three times that with all 27 EU countries combined.

A Conservative government has invested heavily in vaccines and security of jobs already, for example, Royal Navy ships.

Give Douglas Ross and his team your votes.

Why? It will save our pound shrinking in value.

I AM always bemused by business owners who don’t believe in the free market.

If your business can’t compete with the new kid on the block, you must adapt.

It’s capitalism, it’s sink-or-swim, it’s a jungle.

Festival Village’s mega-beer garden sounds like something the city is crying out for and it’s a great shame that it’s been denied by short-sighted bureaucrats in City Chambers and community council busy bodies.

I WAS troubled to read about the teenage girl who had to be cut out of a swing made for young children.

What an absolute waste of the fire brigade’s time and resources.

But perhaps if there was somewhere in the area for these kids to go, we wouldn’t see incidents like this.

I WAS very saddened to hear about Cairo the dog being stolen.

The poor pup is only weeks old and shouldn’t even be out the house.

This has happened just around the corner from me and it’s very concerning.

I do hope the owners get their puppy back soon and that he is safe and well.

Who could do such a thing?

THAT poor pup must be terrified.

How anyone can steal an animal is beyond me.

I hope they get Cairo back and he’s okay.
