McGlynn thrilled as Ross seals Raith return

RAITH ROVERS have confirmed the signing of former loan star Ethan Ross on a permanent deal.

The Stark’s Park side agreed to pay Aberdeen a training compensation fee in order to complete the transfer for the youngster.

Ross, who spent the 2020-21 season on loan in Kirkcaldy penned a three-year deal with manager John McGlynn hailing the signing as “another statement on the work going on at Stark’s Park”.

It brings an end to Ross’ time at Aberdeen where he was under-19 captain having first joined the Dons youth academy at the age of ten.

Ross, 20, boasts Championship experience both during his loan stint with Rovers and a campaign with Dunfermline in the previous season.

“We’re delighted that we have been able to capture the signing of Ethan Ross on a three-year deal from Aberdeen FC”, said thrilled Rovers boss McGlynn.

“Ethan is no stranger to Stark’s Park having been with us in the first part of last season and with Kai Fotheringham going back to Dundee Utd it was a no-brainer to pursue the signing of Ethan.

“It’s another statement of the work going on at Stark’s Park that we could lure him here. I would like to thank Aberdeen for their help, and in particular Steven Gunn who was excellent to deal with throughout the negotiations.”

In a busy day for Rovers Blaise Riley-Snow also agreed terms to extend his stay in Fife until at least the end of the season.

The midfielder, 23, had initially signed on until January but has been rewarded with fresh terms after impressing McGlynn and his management team.
