Fury over rules for wearing face masks

- Brian McGuire Posted online

IWISH the rules for wearing face masks would just be dropped. I’m sick of wearing one in supermarkets and shopping centres when other people go unchallenged as they stroll about without one.

I was discussing the issue with my friend who works in a shop in the West End and he admitted they have given up enforcing the rule as they just receive abuse if they dare to challenge their customers.

I also experienced this during flights abroad last week.

My seven-year-old son wasn’t required to wear a mask in Glasgow Airport but had to wear one on the flight.

He kept his on for the entire flight, while a passenger in front of us with his Old Firm football top on sat with his mask under his nose for the duration of the flight.

His wife then kept a can of beer at her lips for most of the flight to avoid wearing her mask properly.

It was the same after we arrived at the resort – holidaymakers were constantly reminded by hotel staff to wear a face covering when they were ordering at the bar.

Enough is enough. Either enforce the rules, or ditch them.

THE blind do not have a chance in hell navigating the streets of Glasgow (Blind people face ‘obstacle course’ on Glasgow streets, Glasgow Times online).

The problem is who cares, not the Scottish Government, or the SNP council, they just would like the city to look very

European for all the visitors. George Oliver Posted online

YOU can’t get on the pavement in some parts of the Merchant City due to chairs, tables and planters being in the way.

And the bits you can get onto, you either have to jostle with groups of people coming towards you, who think they own the pavements, or delivery cyclists who are of the same belief.

VERY best of luck in both the raising of funds and the young lady’s dream of becoming a neurosurgeon (Fundraiser to help Glasgow student reach dreams of becoming neurosurgeon, Glasgow Times online). Having lived in Easterhouse for a spell back in the day, it’s good to see that despite the area’s reputation it can produce some fine folk.
