Rangers v Aberdeen

-

RANGERS have been warned what to expect when they face Aberdeen at Ibrox tonight – opposition that will be set up to be difficult to beat – as Stephen Glass aims to build upon his side’s win over Hibs at the weekend.

The Dons manager, who had gritted his teeth and displayed determination as his team went 10 games without a victory until Christian Ramirez’s strike took the points at Pittodrie on Saturday, is keen to leave Glasgow with something to show for their efforts.

He does, however, have the kind of injury worries that will leave that task almost Herculean with fullbacks Calvin Ramsay and Jack MacKenzie doubtful and centreback Declan Gallagher expected to be out of action for several weeks following his removal from play after being hurt against Hibs.

“We don’t want the game on Saturday against Hibs to be a one off and then we become yo-yoing again,” Glass said. “If we can continue to build and continue to develop the team and the mindset of not getting beat, particularly when we go to places like Rangers which have quite a hostile environment, then we will be going in the right direction.”

Glass looked back on his time as a talented winger with Aberdeen and Hibs and recalled how he relished playing at Ibrox and the sense of occasion there was there.

He said: “I loved going there and playing. The best atmosphere to play in is when there are full houses and to me people against you on the football pitch. The chance to quiet it down is massive and it feels good when it happens.”
