Parking fees by emission rates is a bad council idea
WHO is thinking up this crazy idea? (Residents could face parking charges based on emissions from cars). It won’t work, people will just say they haven’t got a car. If there were a better way to get from A to B then ok, but there isn’t, how am I supposed to get from Shettleston to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with a wheelchair? A car is essential for some people now they want to charge me for having one, they should live in the real world.

GLASGOW Council, or whoever came up with that idea, is fast making Glasgow a place tourists, or anyone, wouldn’t want to visit. Mark Allen
JUST an excuse to increase the price of parking permits and expand the scheme to issue new permits. Just another moneymaking exercise which comes as no surprise.

NICOLA Sturgeon insists the Cambo oil gas field will not be given the go-ahead but her reckless blocking of our oil and gas projects leaves consumers exposed to huge energy bills as domestic production plummets. By 2030 our gas output will fall by 75% leaving us heavily reliant on imported energy.
At present the UK pays Norway £5 billion for gas and £6bn for crude oil; Russia £525 million for gas and £3bn for oil; the US £3bn for crude oil. If we cut our own supplies of gas and oil faster than we can reduce demand, our import bills will soar without any reduction in emissions.

I COMPLIMENT the city in trying to increase the use of cycling. I pass bikes the council has placed at key locations and I am amazed at the large numbers of bikes not being used.
I was walking down Sauchiehall Street which is meant to promote safe walking but I see this enhanced electric bike going at least 30 mph but just barely missing me. This is another thought through idea by the council.

IT is quite apparent that your correspondent Stephen Johnstone either does not live in the proximity of a football stadium or has no actual idea what type of disgraceful behaviour those of us who do have to withstand every time there’s a match. For his information peeing is the least of the disgusting behaviour we have to witness on a regular basis.
I do agree with him on the dog fouling issue but not to the belittlement of fan behaviour around football stadiums, which the clubs concerned continue to take absolutely no responsibility for.
