It’s time to include inhalers in first aid kits
IENDED up in highdependency unit for four days with an acute asthma attack – only the second attack I’ve had in 43 years (Poorest asthma patients make up third of Scotland’s emergency hospital admissions, Tuesday).
I was totally calm when it happened. I’m still not sure how close I was to being in real danger.
I never had an inhaler when it happened, so I’m an advocate of first aid kits having inhalers in them.

I WONDER if your correspondent in yesterday’s letters page was complaining last year when the city centre was wrecked on two occasions?
Or is his hostility to the recent celebrations, which resulted in no damage to the public realm, as selective as it would appear?

WE are being told that things are getting back to normal, despite Covid still being present.
Well, I have a nephew in his early 60s who died in hospital with a heart condition in early May.
His grieving parents have just been informed that owing to the backlog at the local crematorium, the earliest date for his funeral will be the first week in June. Is this the new ‘normal’?
