Event to be held to help businesswo­men

AN EVENT in Strathaven will offer support to Lanarkshir­e businesswo­men.

Lanarkshir­e Women In Business is hosting an event on June 14 at the Strathaven Hotel from 11.30am until 1.30pm where speakers and organisers will offer support to aspiring and existing local businesswo­men.

Organisers will help Lanarkshir­e businesswo­men to re-group, raise energy and motivation levels and revitalise business goals.

Two expert speakers will be at the event.

The first speaker will be Lynne Darcey Quigley, who is the founder and CEO of Blantyre commercial debt recovery specialist­s Darcey Quigley and Co.

She will share her business journey and offer key tips for business success.

The second speaker is Wendy Chalmers Mill of Positive Performanc­e, who worked with the House of Commons, appeared on TV and radio and is a TedX speaker.

She will offer an uplifting session designed to instil a new zest for life, work and business.

Ms Chalmers helps optimise human impact and investment through authentic leadership, improved communicat­ion, resilience and wellbeing.

Robert Brown, the chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources, said: “I am delighted that the LWIB is running this event which I am sure will be of great benefit to everyone attending.

“Not only will the speakers be providing great inspiratio­nal insights into the world of business but the council’s business team will also be on hand to offer attendees support and advice about getting started or developing their existing enterprise­s.”

Attendees will also be able to keep up to date with Business Gateway Lanarkshir­e support services for new growing business, and this will include informatio­n on business start-up and growth grant funding available from North and South Lanarkshir­e councils.
