Our housing and building services are inadequate

- Colin MacEwan

MYSELF and at least one other neighbour have been in contact with our factor, GHA/ Lowther Homes to have household rubbish including large empty boxes and sundry metallic objects removed.

The rubbish coincided with the change of tenancy in a privately owned GHA factored flat.

The GHA deny any responsibility and passed us to the city council who also denied any responsibility, this has been the case for several weeks.

To my way of thinking this is a blatant case of fly-tipping and the powers that be are unable to deal with it, this just highlights the inadequate administration of our housing and city building services, this is just a fraction of the citywide problem.

WHY do so many drivers, especially those in high-end cars, think the rules of the road don’t apply to them?

No signalling, parking anywhere including the middle of the road and disabled parking spaces. I dread to think what they’re like in other aspects of their lives.

MAYBE I am naive, but I thought the Green Party’s main priority was global warming.

I have voted for this party in the past, but not anymore. Jon Molyneux wrote an article in

Saturday’s Glasgow Times. There was not one word regarding global warming.

It was an anti-Labour and anti-Tory ramble.

So, there you have it folks. If you don’t vote for the SNP or the Green Party, shame on you. You have no concerns regarding global warming.

THEY are supposed to be cleared on a rotational plan (Flooding gullies to be cleaned more regularly, Friday).

Glasgow City Council do not have any machines for this and the work is contracted out. Only when a complaint is made it then takes two years and plenty of emails for anything to happen.

THE human rats have done a good job at polluting the water, too (Mystery as thousands of dead fish appear in Glasgow pond, Saturday). Disgusting to see all the discarded bottles and other detritus in there. Have these dimwits never heard of a bin?
