THE spotlight is on Glasgow Green next weekend as TRNSMT returns with performances from Paolo Nutini, Sam Fender, The Strokes, The Snuts, Wolf Alice and Lewis Capaldi. There will be an impressive line-up from culinary collective Big Feed with an expanded street food presence at the festival across two locations on site.

The food menu is further expanded this year as local favourite Black Rooster Peri Peri is making its TRNSMT debut. The Glasgow based business will be serving its signature Peri Peri chicken from a new custom-made food truck.

Owners Kevin Bell and Michael Kennedy are excited to join the festival: “We speak to our customers all the time and we know that music is a major passion for them. We’ve been keen to get into the festival scene for years but this year – coming out of lockdown and an absolutely unbelievable line-up at cinch presents TRNSMT– just felt like something we couldn’t miss out on.”

Big Feed x cinch presents TRNSMT brings together 20 food and drink traders. There will be the return of Salt n Chilli, a fan favourite, and Duck Street Food – the aromatic duck gyros create some of the biggest queues at Big Feed’s weekend events. Festivalgoers will be able to choose from tacos, bao buns, hot dogs, slow-cooked pulled pork

sandwiches, loaded nachos, buttermilk chicken and freshly ground coffee. Organisers have confirmed the full lineup of traders and dishes for the festival. Here’s what to look out for beside the King Tut’s Stage and in front of the big wheel.

Antojitos serving vegan Mexican dishes and vegan hot dogs. Order seitan quesadillas, curry dogs or nachos with jackfruit.

Typhoon Ten will have barbecue vegan hot dogs. Taberu serves Japanese street food including karaage and gyoza. Street Bao Buns’ menu

includes steamed bao buns with Korean beef, hoi sin lamb, Sichuan snapper or char shui pork and a selection of dumplings.

Street food favourites Stag Bites The Hog will be there with a special selection of dishes for music fans including chicken katsu flatbread and Korean cauliflower flatbread. Rost will serve beef brisket burgers and halloumi fries. Mac Love’s best dishes include chorizo macaroni cheese and Mexican mac. Meanwhile

Papa’s Loaded Fries will keep you going across the weekend with satay chicken or pulled pork topped chips. Mrs Falafel, a regular fixture in Woodlands, is ready to serve up homemade hummus, Fattoush salad and falafel wraps. Go to Dough Man’s Land for mushroom, pepperoni or Margherita pizza.

Before all that, Big Feed is at its usual Govan home for its next event this Saturday and Sunday. trnsmtfest.com
