Happy memories of playing in Springburn Park

-

MY memories of Springburn Park always bring me happy memories of my childhood. We would play on the swings, go tadpoling in the boating lake. Learned to putt which brought my interest in golf in general. I loved to look at the flowers and shrubs even as a child.

The Winter Gardens introduced us to some tropical plants unseen by the normal Glasgow wean.

Playing hockey in the winter was unfortunately a less happy memory walking to the park from the Albert Senior Secondary School.

It is such a sad and sorry trip now, so run down and left to rot.

Come on Glasgow put the investment in so that generation of parents and children can enjoy what was such a beautiful park.

It’s an investment in the mental health of all who could visit. Lorraine Luckhurst

A CHARGING policy will introduce a two- tier system – one for those who can afford to pay a fee and others who can’t ( City business leader warns against a congestion charge on motorists for Glasgow, Tuesday).

Best option is to ban all vehicles so everyone can feel equal regardless if they are wealthy or poor.

LOW- EMISSION zones will just do the same damage as a congestion charge.

It is anti- business and anti- car. Roads in a highly- dangerous state, the same potholes in Springburn – repaired at least six times.

Can the road policing unit explain why they are allowing this? What gives the council the right to monitor the movements of private citizens with their ANPR system? What we are dealing with is a one- sided university ideology. Robert Gray

I THOUGHT congestion charges were about air quality and green issues. All these traffic measures are really about raising cash. Fred Bambrick

IT’S the same scenario as London. Nothing to do with stopping air pollution, Mr Khan knows that he will make plenty as people have to drive into the city.

Hypocritical nonsense, you can bring your vehicle in every day but you must pay. What for?
