When will council admit potholes are a health hazard?

- G Carlin

WHEN will Glasgow City Council admit that the roads in Glasgow are now a major public health hazard? Potholes are everywhere, cars are grinding to a halt with burst tyres and wheels because on just about every road are major potholes; stank covers are disintegrating...

I’ve personally suffered six blowouts since December 20 which has resulted in me having to purchase new tyres each time. I really need to renew my wheels as well but I can’t afford that as well as buying new tyres.

The current administration has a lot to answer for as it is running Glasgow into the ground.

NURSES are on strike because they cannot live on £ 30,000 per year.

Teachers and rail workers are on strike for the same reason.

Tell me, who is on strike representing the OAPs who are supposed to exist on £ 7000 per year?

Sadly, no- one at Holyrood seems to care about them ( perhaps because they have nothing to bargain with) but MSPs manage to give themselves an “additional” £ 1000 per year salary increase!

Meanwhile Patrick Harvey

( the Green Party) is hell- bent on building cycle lanes that no- one ( as East Kilbride can vouch for) uses.

So, where have all the MSPs gone who promised to look after the old, the sick and homeless?

Aye Nicola, it’s time to move over, or out!

WHY in God’s name are millions of pounds of council taxpayers’ money being poured into more cycle lanes in the city while fly- tipping and discarded rubbish is piling up in the streets and potholes like chasms are opening up on every main road?

Basic amenities like community centres, libraries and swimming pools are restricted or closed. Main roads where these lanes are already installed are congested and frankly, dangerous.

Victoria Road, for example, is a nightmare of double parking, cars doing three point turns in heavy traffic and long queues at every set of lights. Surely this money could be much better spent.
