Man shouted threat at social worker

A MAN told a social worker he would “batter f** k” out of him after being asked how he was doing.

Kristofer Glen attended an appointment at social work offices in Langton Road, Pollok, on March 17, 2021.

The 33- year- old was standing in the foyer area when Lewis Hultman, a former social worker of his, entered.

In passing, Mr Hultman asked Glen how he was doing but didn’t stop to talk because he was busy.

But Glen shouted: “How am I doing? I’m going to batter f** k out of you, that’s how I’m doing.”

He continued to shout and swear at the social worker, with his behaviour being caught on CCTV.

Another member of staff tried to calm Glen down before he was asked to leave.

Police were contacted and attended his home the following day, where he was cautioned and charged.

He replied: “I said I’m not all right Lewis, that’s all I said.”

Glen, of Newlands, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday after previously pleading guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence.

His lawyer told the court: “He’s of the view that what he is meant to have said was threatening and he accepts that.

“The social work report is quite encouraging.

“He’s presently on a community payback order for a domestic matter from last year and is on a restriction of liberty order until April.

“He accepts himself that he needs help.”

Sheriff Amel Elfallah replied: “He’s on two supervision orders so he’s going to be supervised for the foreseeable.”

She addressed Glen and said: “Social workers do an extremely difficult job.

“This kind of disturbance makes their job more difficult, but no doubt makes it frightening for them.

“You cannot behave this way. You pleaded guilty at the first appearance, and things have changed for you.

“You’re being supported in the community to turn things around and I’m not minded to interfere with that.

“I’ll defer sentence for six months for good behaviour and we’ll see where you are then. Take this opportunity.”

Glen will return to court in July.
