Blackburn ideal for Porteous, says Bamba

-

FORMER Hibs defender Sol Bamba believes Blackburn Rovers would be the perfect club for Ryan Porteous should the centre- back make the move to England.

The Championship side are thought to have submitted a six- figure bid for the Scotland international, who is in the final six months of his deal and has made it clear his future lies away from Easter Road.

Italian top- flight club Udinese are also interested in the 23- year- old, but Bamba said: “Hibs won’t be happy to lose him but I guess he wants to go down to England and test himself.

“Blackburn would be a good club for him, their captain [ Dom Hyam] got injured in the last game so that’s why I think there is interest now.

“It’s up to him as well, and Hibs what they want to do. He’ll be a big miss for them but it would be a big move, and a good move, if he did come to Blackburn.”

Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet’s immediate future is also the subject of intense speculation after scoring seven goals in his last six games.

Nisbet’s form in front of goal is all the more impressive considering he only returned from 10 months out with an ACL injury in December.

Bamba said: “He’s done so well to come back from his knee injury and score seven goals in six.

“I daren’t imagine where Hibs would be without him. If they let him go and don’t replace him with someone as good as him, it’s going to be difficult for them but at the same time, when Celtic or Rangers come calling it’s difficult to turn them down, especially for ambitious players who want to play at the highest level.
