Miller reveals Imrie has told side horror stories

- Christopher Dodds

MORTON winger Calvin Miller has revealed that boss Dougie Imrie has used his worst Parkhead moments to motivate his side as opposed to his best after warning his players what they could be up against.

Imrie has played his part in famous victories against Celtic but he has banished all talk of those nights in the build up to the game so that his players go into the tie not allowing Ange Postecolgou’s men an easy afternoon.

Parkhead graduate Miller admits that the current crop of Celtic stars are playing better football than the invincible side that he was a part of six years ago and he reckons that Morton’s discipline will be key in derailing their hopes of progressing to the next round.

“The manager actually mentioned him playing at Parkhead before, but not that night when he scored the penalty,” he said. “He’s been telling us how tough it can be if you don’t switch on and aren’t concentrated.

“He’s told us about times that he’s gone to Parkhead and been on the end of some heavy defeats in the past and he, as well as us, doesn’t want that happening. He knows that if you’re not switched on then that can easily happen and you’ve seen that with some of their scores this season.

“If you look at the way Celtic are playing just now, arguably they’re playing their best football yet.

“It’s different in the sense of, Brendan Rodgers wanted pure domination. He wanted to build out from the back and be good in possession but I feel like Ange has just brought a whole attacking game to Celtic. It’s the best football I’ve seen them play, so we know we really need to be at our best.”
