Gender Bill could have worldwide ramifications

- Tim Cox

YOUR reader MA stated that the Scottish Government should call an election immediately. He is appalled by the Westminster Government’s interference in the Gender Recognition Bill in Scotland.

He has obviously not considered the wider worldwide problems gender recognition will cause for Scottish citizens. For example, does he think that come independence, countries throughout the world will allow entry to someone who looks like a female, but has male entered in their passport?

As someone who has went through passport control in both Canada and the USA, I have my doubts about that.

PEOPLE keep whining about the death of the city centre high street and how Sauchiehall Street has lost so many shops.

Oh I have a good idea. Why not demolish a fairly new and modern shopping centre that actually has shops in it with good parking facilities.

That won’t force more trade and shoppers out to out of town malls like Braehead and Silverburn I am sure. * Sarcasm mode deactivated*

Also, this is Glasgow, it rains. People like to shop under a roof. Malcolm B

IT has been revealed that UK citizens who never in their life have been late paying an energy bill may become target of a court order rubber- stamped without examination to allow prepayment meters to be literally forced on them.

The power company executives who pick victims for this dishonest and degrading exercise in revenueassurance should be identified and horse- whipped.

Arrogant behaviour by power suppliers is nothing new. I received a letter full of twisted language from a UK power company demanding a free loan 40 years ago, after years of untroubled custom.

They didn’t get the loan. It was a try- on aimed at people ill- equipped to defend themselves.

Now the try- on is being nodded through with force of law.
