Sign of the times as town highlights events

FOUR new gateway signs are being installed on the key routes into Tewkesbury.
The signs are made out of oak and have been designed in a style that reflects the wooden horses on the A38 Stonehills roundabout.
The new signs will not only act as a welcome to visitors to the town but have also been designed with interchangeable panels that will be used to promote local events.
Councillor Robert Bird, lead member for economic development and promotion, said: “These signs will provide a striking entry into Tewkesbury, giving a great sense of arrival, and will really draw attention to what the town has to offer. These stunning designs promote the charm of Tewkesbury and enhance its attraction to visitors.”
The four signs, which will be located on Gloucester Road, Ashchurch Road, Bredon Road and Mythe Road. The signs have been funded from a government grant secured by Tewkesbury Borough Council which has also worked in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council to enable the signs to become a reality.
Gloucestershire county councillor Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: “We are really looking forward to the signs being put in place by the roadside.”
