Don’t outstay your welcome at Crickley Hill

-

✒ I HAVE been walking on Crickley Hill for 40 years and recently my husband and I took two of our grandchildren for a walk with our dog.

We paid our parking fee, which has recently increased somewhat.

It was a beautiful day and after a walk, we bought ice creams and gave the dog some water.

By the time we had finished, loaded and strapped the dog and children into the car, we were over our parking time by almost 20 minutes. I fully accept that we are in the wrong, but didn’t give it another thought.

I then received in the post a £100 parking fine which I believe is extremely excessive (£60 if I pay immediately).

If some of that money was going towards the upkeep of Crickley Hill I really wouldn’t mind so much. I just wanted to make people aware so they don’t get caught out!
