Rising stars get call to take on Britain’s best

» THREE rising netball stars have earned a spot in the Severn Stars squads for the 2018 School Games.

Cotswold School pupil Ellie Gabriel, 15, from Cheltenhamhas been named in the under-19 squad.

And there are also call-ups for fellow 15 year olds Katie Pauling from Cirencester and Nadine Baird from Tewkesbury.

The School Games are a national multi-sport event f at Loughborough University from August 30 to September 2.

More than 1,400 athletes will compete across 11 sports.

Previous competitors include Paralympic champions Hannah Cockroft, Ellie Simmonds and Jonnie Peacock, Olympic champion Adam Peaty, heptathlete Katarina Johnsonthompson and sprinter Adam Gemili.
