Sky Blues thinking of making swoop for ex-robin Thomas

DERBY County prospect Luke Thomas is set to join League One Coventry City on loan until January.

The 19-year-old has so far made two substitute appearances for the Rams in the Championship.

He joined them from Cheltenham Town in January 2016 and signed a new four-year contract with Frank Lampard’s team, keeping him at Pride Park until 2022.

Thomas was on the bench for Derby’s opening match of the season against Reading, having scored twice in a friendly win over Notts County.

But he has not featured in the match day 18 since and the Rams are keen to build their young player of the year’s senior experience.

Thomas made one substitute appearance in the FA Trophy for Cheltenham and spenting time on loan at Gloucester City.
